Huai Xai(Bokeo) – Mekong boat trip – Pak Beng – Luang Prabang

Day01: Huaixai – Mekhong cruising – Pak Baeng(Pak Beng) (B/L/D)

After your breakfast, meet your guide at 8:00, then transferring to Boat Pier.

The Mekong river: The Mekong River originates high in the Tibetan plateau and passes through six countries: China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Estimated by the Mekong River Commission at just under 4909 kilometers long, it is the seventh longest river in Asia and the 10th longest in the world.

Amazing boat trip along Mekong river, we have good change to visit tribal villages of Hmong and Khmu,

Our boat Cruising will arrive in Pak Beng around 5:00 pm. Today stay in Pak beng.

Pak Beng: it’s is a small village in Laos, on the Mekong River, about halfway between the Thai border at Huay Xai and Luang Prabang, Laos. Pakbeng is connected by a sealed road with Oudomxay province along the Nam Beng River.


Day02: Pakbeng – Mekhong boat trip – Luangprabang(B/L/D)

Our second day we will continue our slow boat cruising from Pak Beng to the world heritage of Luangprabang, on the way we stop to visit Tham ting Cave( Pak ou cave),

Tham ting Cave: Situated on the Mekong River, Sacred Tham Ting Cave houses where there are thousands of Buddha statues. This underground sanctuary has been venerated for centuries. The number of Buddha images in the cave gradually increases as locals bring Buddhas to place in the cave when they visit. The cave can be reached either by boat trip to the point where the Nam Ou River meets the Mekong.

After visiting the cave we continue and visit Ban Xang Hai, a  Village, where you can also witness the villagers making ‘Lao Lao’ (fermented rice liquor). Visitors can sample the drink and purchase locally made handicrafts.

Then we head to world heritage of Luangprabang. Stay in Luangprabang.

Day03: Luangprabang – tourism sites – Luangprabang(B/L/D)

  • Sightseeing in the city,
  • In the morning we will visit interesting places in town including visiting ROYAL PALACE MUSEUM located in the heart of Luangprabang,
  • Visit Wat Xieng Thong temple, this temple was built during 16th Century by Laos king Sayasetthathirath, is the most interesting examples of traditional Lao Art and Buddhist architecture.
  • Climb up to PHUOSI MOUNTAIN with 328 stairs/steps up to the top of Mountain, from there you will see a perfect 360 panoramic view of the whole city.
  • In the afternoon we drive out of the town for 30 km to visit khuangsi waterfall, the biggest and most interesting waterfall, on the way including visiting tribal villages of Hmong (Hmong handicraft village). Stay in luangprabang.
