Jungle trek to Nam Ha national Protected Area and visit tribal villages of khmu   ethnic group

Day01: Luang namtha – Nam Ha jungle trek – jungle Camping(_/L/D)

Morning
At 9:00 am we meet at your guesthouse in town and take a tuk-tuk ride to the start of the trail near ThaSae village. On the route we stop off briefly at the local Laos market for supplies. From the start of the hike we find ourselves immediately immersed in lush tropical forest, as the trail leads us deeper into the jungle. We continue hiking for 2-3 hours over hills and valleys shaded from the sun by the magnificent jungle canopy.
​Midday
At lunchtime we stop at a perfect spot in the jungle for a well-earned Lao picnic, expertly prepared by our guides using the resources of the surrounding environment.
Afternoon
We continue on the trail through a hugely impressive primary forest populated with mighty mahogany trees, bamboo groves and wild banana plants. After finding a suitable campsite our guides will teach you how to construct a shelter for the night, and how to select and find the right building materials.
Evening
Relax, share some food and drinks by the campfire, and later fall asleep to the enchanting sounds of the jungle.

Day02: Camping point – Jungle trekking – Ban Nalan(Khmu tribe)(B/L/D)
Departure: 10:00 am, Finish: 3:00 (Nalan Tai village)

Duration: 5-6 hours trek. Trekking level: Moderate-Challenging
Morning
Wake up in the heart of the jungle to gentle birdsong and a tasty breakfast laid on by our ever-attentive guides. We start walking on the trail at around 10:00 am with a rewarding hike over richly forested hills and across lush and verdant valleys.
​Midday
Lunch time – jungle style! Learn from our guides how to find and prepare your own food using the jungle resources. Watch, learn, and get involved cooking your lunch using authentic jungle techniques.

Afternoon
Back on the trail we continue our hike through ancient forests filled with life. Before long we begin a steady descent on a hillside with jaw-dropping views across the valleys of the Namha NPA. Around 3:00 pm, we reach the picturesque and timeless of Khamu tribe. Meet the locals and learn about their unique way of life , Nalan village where our home for tonight .
Evening
A traditional Lao dinner will be served in your Khmu family homestay.

Day03: Ban Nalan – Nam Ha jungle trekking –  Ban Chalernsouk( A Khmu tribe) –  Lunag Namtha
Departure: 10:00 am, Return: 3-4:00 pm (to Luang Namtha)
Duration: 4-5 hours trek, Trekking level: Easy-Moderate
Morning
​Wake up to the enchanting sounds of the jungle and village life with a delicious, authentic Lao breakfast. Around 10:00 am we begin a 2 hour hike through old-growth forest, totally immersed in the wild natural landscape as the trail gradually rises along a steep inclination.
Afternoon
We stop at a suitable scenic location in the depths of the forest to enjoy an authentic Lao-style picnic, freshly prepared by your guides using the natural resources of the jungle.
Back on the trail we steadily descend through luscious rainforest until reaching the Chalermsouk village of the Khmu people. After passing through exquisitely cultivated lands the trek ends at traditional rice storage houses amidst a patchwork of paddy fields. From there we take an invigorating tuk-tuk ride back to the Discovering Laos office, arriving back in Luang Namtha at approx 4-5:00pm.
